About Dr. Nicholas Morgan

Dr. Nicholas Morgan is the founder of The Center for Integrative Wellness a natural medicine clinic in Michigan. He completed his naturopathic doctorate training in 2011. After graduating from the National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) Dr. Morgan started a residency at Arthritis Care PC in Lansing, Michigan. He is the first naturopathic rheumatology resident in the United States and the first naturopathic resident in the state of Michigan. During his two year residency training he also trained with naturopathic doctors, functional medical doctors, medical doctors, and osteopathic doctors. After completing his residency training in 2013 Dr. Morgan founded The Center for Integrative Wellness. Dr. Morgan works both with local Michigan residents and virtually to provide patients with effective, safe, and affordable natural medicine. In addition to working with patients directly Dr. Morgan also acts as an adjunct professor at Great Lakes Christian College. There he has taught the Biological Foundations of Nutrition course since 2015. In 2019 Dr. Morgan started serving as a certified nutritional specialist supervisor. In this role he acts as a mentor to nutritionist to help them become certified nutritional specialist.
Education before becoming a naturopathic physician
Dr. Morgan was born and raised in Flint, Michigan. He graduated from Flint Northern high school in 2000. While in Flint he was active in both his school and the community. In undergrad, Dr. Morgan attended Cornell University for a year before transferring to Albion College. While in college he continued his commitment to community service while also being a varsity athletic in track and field all 4 years. He graduated with a bachelors of arts in Psychology with honors in Anthropology and Sociology and a minor in Chemistry. After graduating he initially worked in a residential facility with children that were survivors of abuse. After working there he switched his focus on working with adults dual diagnosed with mental illness and substance abuse. It was at that time that he decided to return to school for training in naturopathy.
Holistic medicine training and Michigan license
In 2011, Dr. Morgan graduated Magna Cum Laude from National University of Health Sciences with a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine. National University of Health Sciences is accredited by the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education and recognized by the United States Department of Education. Dr. Morgan passed the Naturopathic Licensing Examinations (NPLEX) and holds a naturopathic physician’s license in the state of Utah because the state of Michigan does not license their naturopathic physicians. For more information about naturopath’s efforts to become licensed in Michigan you can sign up for the email list at Michigan Association of Naturopathic Physicians (MANP). Since Dr. Morgan is not licensed in Michigan your insurance company is not obligated to cover his services. In addition, he does not perform physical exams, prescribe drugs, or act as a primary care provider. He can accept Health Savings Accounts or Flexible Spending Accounts as forms of payment.
Natural medicine interests and hobbies
Dr. Morgan’s medical interests include functional medicine, nutritional biochemistry, arthritis prevention, methylation management, mental illness, inflammation/autoimmune diseases, metabolic medicine, fatigue/mitochondrial dysfunction, and biomechanics to help manage chronic pain. He loves being a naturopathic doctor because it allows him to utilize his vast knowledge to help people recover the health naturally. The Center for Integrative Wellness provides affordable naturopathic consultations to an area that has not had a naturopathic presence. Dr. Morgan also volunteers as a hurdle coach with Albion College Track & Field teams, and is the board president of the Third Circle of Michigan. In Dr. Morgan’s free time he enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new adventures, working out, and most importantly naps.
